Bring admissions, funding and arrival paperwork together.
Italy requires more than choosing a university with an attractive fee. The institutionโs admission decision, Universitaly pre-enrollment, funding applications and arrival formalities should each have their own place in your calendar.

Study and student life in Italy
THE DETAILS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Beyond the brochure
Country-specific facts and practical questions to build a stronger study plan.
01
Ask the institution to assess your qualifications
Italian higher education institutions decide academic recognition for enrollment. Confirm the precise degree, language, admission test and document requirements before paying for translations or qualification services that your institution may not need.
Visa applicants use the official Universitaly pre-enrollment process after coordinating with the institution. A validated application supports the visa process; the published procedures make clear that it does not guarantee an appointment or a visa.
Universitaly signposts scholarships, fee support and accommodation opportunities. Ask the university which schemes apply to your programme and status. Track the scholarshipโs evidence, deadline and payment schedule separately from the admission deadline.
For a national study visa, Universitaly explains the residence-permit process after arrival, including the eight-working-day timeframe. Keep originals and copies ready, and contact the universityโs international office about enrollment completion and local support.
We turn the requirements into a clear plan for your profile, your budget and your next step.
โฆ
Two calendars, one clear plan
We help track university admission and funding applications so one deadline does not distract from the other.
โฆ
Document requirements before document costs
We help clarify what your chosen institution requests before you commission translations or recognition paperwork.
โฆ
Support beyond the offer
We organise your Universitaly preparation and arrival checklist, including questions for the university about accommodation and enrollment.
Our role is preparation and guidance. Universities, scholarship bodies and immigration authorities make their own decisions.

Your journey to Italy, step by step.
Scroll to explore the milestones. We help you understand what to prepare and what comes next.
โExplore step 1 of 7Apply to your chosen university
A typical international degree-student route where immigration permission is required. Steps can overlap; nationality, course and official decisions determine your exact route. This is a planning guide, not your application status.
01STEP 01
Apply to your chosen university
Check the programme language, qualification requirements and any entrance assessment.
02STEP 02
Receive the universityโs decision
Complete outstanding academic conditions and review tuition and scholarship timelines separately.
03STEP 03
Complete Universitaly pre-enrolment
Where required, submit the pre-enrolment request and follow the institutionโs validation instructions.
04STEP 04
Prepare the consular checklist
Gather financial, accommodation, insurance and qualification evidence required by your Italian mission.
05STEP 05
Apply for the study visa
Submit the required application. University validation does not guarantee a visa.
06STEP 06
Check the decision and organise travel
After approval, confirm entry timing, housing and original documents needed for enrolment.
07STEP 07
Arrive and complete residence formalities
For the applicable long-stay route, request your residence permit within eight working days and complete university enrolment.
ASK BEFORE YOU COMMIT
Questions worth asking
Does university validation mean my visa is approved?
No. The consular authority makes the visa decision. Universitaly validation is part of the supporting process.
Is a scholarship the same as an admission offer?
No. Treat them as separate decisions and read the award conditions. Keep a funding plan for any costs and periods the award does not cover.
