Find your fit across a genuinely varied education system.
A US shortlist can include very different campus environments, degree structures and funding models. Compare what you will study, how you will pay for it and who will support you on campus before committing to an offer.

THE DETAILS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Beyond the brochure
Country-specific facts and practical questions to build a stronger study plan.
01
Start with institution and programme fit
EducationUSA separates undergraduate, graduate, community-college and other study routes. Compare accredited institutions, entry requirements and academic environments. For a transfer route, request written information about which credits the receiving university will accept.
Research, finance, applications, visa preparation and departure are separate stages. Track each university’s essays, recommendations, test policy and funding deadlines. Do not assume that a test policy or English waiver at one institution applies to another.
Ask for tuition, mandatory fees, insurance, accommodation, meals and travel together. Check whether an award renews, what academic performance it requires and which expenses remain payable. Graduate funding should be confirmed in an official written offer.
CPT and OPT have different purposes and authorization requirements. Training must meet the applicable conditions; a STEM extension is not available merely because a course sounds technical. Discuss your exact programme and authorization with the school’s designated official before accepting work.

ASK BEFORE YOU COMMIT
Questions worth asking
Should I choose only by the overall ranking?
Also compare your department, curriculum, class format, support services and total net cost. A highly ranked institution may still be a poor fit for your specific needs.
Does an internship promise mean I can start work?
No. Confirm the placement and the required authorization with your designated school official before starting. Practical training has specific eligibility and timing rules.
