Study in Malaysia

Coordinate the university offer with the Student Pass process.

For Malaysia, a good plan brings course selection and the EMGS process together. Understand which charges belong to the university and which relate to immigration, insurance and arrival requirements before comparing offers.

THE DETAILS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Beyond the brochure

Country-specific facts and practical questions to build a stronger study plan.

01

Compare the institution and awarding body

Malaysia offers public institutions, private institutions and foreign branch campuses. Ask who awards the qualification, where you study and which costs are included. Do not assume a branch-campus offer includes transfer to an overseas campus.

02

Prepare the Student Pass document set

Use the EMGS checklist alongside your universityโ€™s admission requirements. Confirm passport-copy requirements and the accepted English-language evidence for your route. Keep personal details consistent across the application and supporting documents.

03

Separate tuition from processing costs

EMGS fees do not include university course fees. Build separate lines for processing, the pass, insurance, medical screening and any institution charges. Use the relevant fee calculation for your institution type and application.

Do not miss post-arrival steps

New international students must attend the required medical screening within seven working days of arrival under EMGS guidance. Insurance is compulsory, and pass endorsement follows the applicable process. Coordinate the arrival checklist with your university.
